Description:
U.S. Railroad Map contains data for the entire United States railroad network. Just mouseover or click on the map to see current and historical data for specific stretches of track on current and abandoned railroad lines. Data includes a graphic display of each railroad line. Additional data (where available) tells you whether this stretch of track is abandoned, previous owners, post World War II owners, passenger, traffic density, FRA class, and type of signaling. Map zooms out to lower 48 states, or zooms in to city level. Geographically correct, this map uses FRA and USGS data, so scaling and track locations are accurate. Researched and programmed by Ron Paludan, an experienced PC mapmaker and railfan, this software program combines history and geography to fulfill a need-to-know for railfans and rail historians. Look up railroads, or just find out about that stretch of track you've been wondering about.
